Chelsea have agreed a deal with Barcelona for striker Marc Guiu, with the 18-year-old set to become the club’s third summer signing.

The Blues have already signed Tosin Adarabioyo from neighbours Fulham, whilst an official announcement is expected this week for Omari Kellyman, who is set to complete a £19m move from Aston Villa.

Chelsea have been in the market for a striker to complement Nicolas Jackson, and it seems they have seen an opportunity in Guiu, who will cost just €6m due to his release clause.

Fabrizio Romano took to X.com to confirm that the deal was done, and there was a verbal agreement in place with Guiu’s agents.

He said:

“Marc Guiu to Chelsea, here we go! The club has just informed Barça on plan to trigger €6m release clause for 2006 born striker.

“Verbal agreement in place with Guiu’s agents, now proceeding with formal steps later this week. Guiu expected to sign long term deal at #CFC.”

Romano had earlier reported that Chelsea see Guiu as an excellent opportunity in the market, and the plan is for him to be assessed by Enzo Maresca before a final decision is taken on whether he will be part of the first team squad.

Guiu came through the ranks at Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy and broke into the first team last season under Xavi, where he made seven appearances and scored two goals.

The teenager had a debut to remember as he scored just 23 seconds after coming on against Athletic Bilbao, and he also scored in the Champions League against Belgian side Royal Antwerp.

This move sees a continuation in Chelsea’s policy of signing the best young talents from around the world, with the club confirming the signing of Estevao Willian last weekend.

It remains to be seen if Guiu is the only striker Chelsea bring in, and the Blues have been linked with a move for Lille striker Jonathan David and Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier.

Ruud van Nistelrooy is expected to rejoin Manchester United as Erik ten Hag's coaching staff.

Van Nistelrooy was linked to Burnley's open managerial post as the Clarets looked to replace Vincent Kompany after the latter's move to Bayern Munich.

Before entering club management in 2022, the 47-year-old assisted Frank de Boer and Ronald Koeman for the Netherlands national side.

During a five-year tenure under Sir Alex Ferguson, Van Nistelrooy scored 150 goals in 219 games for the Red Devils, winning the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the League Cup.

He has also found success as a manager.

Before leaving the position, the 47-year-old led PSV Eindhoven to a second-place finish in the Eredivisie and won the Dutch Cup with the team in 2023.

Fabrizio Romano has stated that the 47-year-old has "been approached to be part of Erik ten Hag's new staff at Manchester United" and that "changes could take place in #MUFC staff."

Meanwhile, Man United are considering a move for Lille striker Jonathan David as they look to strengthen their attack this summer.

Real Madrid striker Joselu is one the move again after a successful season with Los Blancos.

During the 2023–24 season, the 34-year-old scored 18 goals for Real Madrid, helping the team win both the La Liga and the Champions League.

Crystal Palace star Michael Olise is set to join German giants Bayern Munich after Chelsea pulled out of a deal for the Frenchman.

The Blues almost signed Olise last summer before the deal fell through, and they were reportedly leading the race for the winger this summer.

However, in a turn of events it’s been reported that Chelsea have pulled out of the race for the 22-year-old after feeling the finances involved were beyond their reach.

The Blues are trying to reduce their wage bill and will happily walk away from deals if a potential transfer target doesn’t fit into their existing structure.

Fabrizio Romano took to X.com to share the news and said:

“Chelsea have decided to leave the race for Michael Olise.

“After Palace offering him new deal and high financial requests, Chelsea decide to withdraw. Deal currently off, as @David_Ornstein called.

“Bayern and Newcastle are also speaking to Olise, Man Utd remain keen.”

The Athletic have subsequently reported that Olise has chosen to join Bayern and the Bundesliga outfit are set to agree a deal with Palace.

Olise joined Crystal Palace from Reading in 2021 and has made 90 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals and providing 25 assists during his time at Selhurst Park.

The winger impressed last season with ten goals and six assists in just 19 Premier League appearances, and he is now set for a new chapter in Germany with one of the biggest clubs in the world, and will play regular Champions League football.

For Chelsea it’s the second summer in a row they have missed out on Olise, and they will now turn their attention to other targets with the Blues strongly linked with Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran and Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion, whilst they have also enquired about Barcelona teenager Marc Guiu.

Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen is heading to Aston Villa after the Midlands club agreed a deal with the Premier League giants.

The 22-year-old started each of Borussia Dortmund's games in the Champions League knockout stage on his loan spell there to get to this month's Wembley final.

Last season, he made 16 appearances in the Bundesliga while on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

The 22-year-old, who has played in 12 league games for Chelsea, has also spent time on loan at Burnley, Coventry, and Charlton during the three prior campaigns.

Emery's team wants to strengthen this summer in preparation for their Champions League campaign after finishing fourth in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old Netherlands international is now set to join Unai Emery's team as the two sides are directly negotiating personal terms, despite Borussia Dortmund showing a lot of interest.

The 20-year-old joined Atletico from Granada last summer, before spending the season on loan at Deportivo Alaves, where he scored nine goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.

The Spain under-21 international has yet to make an appearance for Atletico but they are believed to view him as a key player for the future, and he is under contract until 2028.

Chelsea will face competition for Omorodion’s signature with Serie A clubs Roma and Napoli reportedly also interested.

Serhou Guirassy, Dominic Solanke and Lois Openda have been touted as possible alternatives, but it appears Chelsea’s new striker will either be Omorodion or Duran.

Eighteen-year-old Tyrique George has agreed to sign a new contract with Chelsea.

The London-born forward, who has been assigned 67 as his Chelsea squad number, has yet to make a first-team appearance.

However, according to an exclusive report by Fabrizio Romano, George is highly rated at Stamford Bridge and is seen as a “huge” prospect for the future.

George made three appearances for Chelsea U21s in last season’s EFL Trophy.

He has been capped by England at U16, U17 and U18 level but he could yet opt to represent Nigeria in the future.

Another talented teenager agreed a deal with Chelsea earlier this week.

Romano revealed on Wednesday that Chelsea will sign 17-year-old right-back Pedro Lima from Sport Recife in Brazil this summer.

Lima will not move directly to Stamford Bridge. The Brazilian will instead play for French side Strasbourg next season.

In other Chelsea news, Daily Briefing columnist Christian Falk reported on Friday morning that Levi Colwill is now looking unlikely to join Bayern Munich this summer after the German giants signed Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart.

Falk also commented that Bayern centre-back Matthijs de Ligt could be an option for Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, as reported by Romano in Friday’s Daily Briefing, Chelsea have approached Crystal Palace to ask for further details about Michael Olise’s release clause.

Everton defender Branthwaite has impressed a number of clubs after his brilliant season for the Toffees.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X, Man United are interested in signing the English defender but he is not the only player on their shortlist as they explore the transfer market for new players.

Man United and Everton are not involved in talks for the player at the moment.

The Toffees are demanding a transfer fee of £65-£70m for Branthwaite, who played 35 Premier League matches for Sean Dyche's team and scored three goals.

Man United's struggles last season were mostly down to defensive injuries, according to manager Erik ten Hag, who is now negotiating a new contract at the club after the club decided to keep him as the manager.

Throughout last season, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane, Jonny Evans, Willy Kambwala, and Luke Shaw all suffered injuries.

In order to improve his team before the upcoming season, he is eager to address the matter during the transfer window.

Branthwaite narrowly missed out on Gareth Southgate's final 26-man squad of England for the European Championships this summer.

Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab want to sign former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer.

Southampton forward Che Adams and Benfica’s Rafa Silva are also on Al-Shabab’s growing wish-list.

Daily Briefing columnist Ben Jacobs broke the news in an exclusive update via X.com late on Wednesday night.

He wrote: “Al-Shabab have added Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Che Adams to their list of targets, alongside Rafa Silva.

“Al-Shabab have been one of the most active Saudi clubs so far this summer and are now hoping to bring in at least two big names in the coming weeks.

“Aubameyang is a long-standing Saudi target.

“Adams pursued by Wolves and Nottingham Forest, but Shabab hoping to persuade him to move to Saudi instead.

“Shabab have been working on Silva since early May, as revealed last month.”

Adams and Silva will both be out of contract at the end of this month and are therefore available as free transfers.

However, Aubameyang is under contract with Marseille for another two years.

Aubameyang, 34, joined Marseille from Chelsea 12 months ago.

After scoring just three goals in a disappointing 21-game stint at Stamford Bridge, Aubameyang netted 30 times in 51 appearances for Marseille last season.

That was his most productive campaign since he hit 31 goals for Arsenal in the 2018/19 season.

Ninety-two of Aubameyang’s 334 club goals to date came during his four years with the Gunners.

He featured in 163 first-team matches for the Emirates Stadium outfit and played a key role in Arsenal’s FA Cup triumph in 2020, bagging a brace in a 2-1 win over Chelsea in the final.

Aubameyang has also played and scored for Barcelona (13 goals), Borussia Dortmund (141 goals), Saint-Etienne (41 goals), Monaco (two goals), Lille (two goals) and Dijon (10 goals) during a well-travelled career.

Al-Shabab finished eighth in the latest edition of the Saudi Pro League.

Their 2023/24 squad included Yannick Carrasco and Ivan Rakitic.

Hiroki Ito will become a Bayern Munich player very soon after the club reached an agreement with the Japan international over personal terms.

Bayern will pay a €30 million transfer fee to fellow Bundesliga club Stuttgart.

Ito, 25, will sign a five-year contract with Bayern, who finished one point and one place behind Stuttgart in the most recent edition of the Bundesliga.

Bayern conceded 45 league goals last season - their worst defensive effort since the 1995/96 campaign.

Defenders are therefore high on Bayern’s wanted list this summer.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X.com, Bayern remain keen to recruit Germany centre-back Jonathan Tah from Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, despite agreeing a deal for Ito.

Romano tweeted on Wednesday evening: “Hiroki Ito to Bayern, here we go! Agreement in place with the player on five year contract, next step medical tests.

“Bayern trigger €30m release clause from Stuttgart for 25 year old Japanese defender.

“Bayern also remain in talks for Jonathan Tah.”

Romano went into more detail about Bayern’s interest in Tah in his exclusive column earlier on Wednesday.

In the column, Romano also discussed the possibility that Bayern could part ways with Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Kimmich this summer.

On Tah, Romano wrote: “As previously reported, the Bayer Leverkusen defender sees Bayern as his favourite option if he is to leave Leverkusen. So now let’s see what Tah will decide to do, but my understanding is that he’s already in advanced talks on contract terms with Bayern.

“So, Bayern are working on signing Tah, though we’ve also had rumours about interest in Chelsea’s Levi Colwill. It’s important to clarify that for Chelsea’s owners, directors and staff, Colwill is a really crucial player. He is expected to stay at the club in the summer transfer window, he won’t leave unless something crazy happens, or if the player asks to go. Colwill remains a really crucial part of the Chelsea project - this is why they offered him a new deal last year, and why they are not considering discussing his exit.

“Another Bayern story we’re seeing is about Matthijs de Ligt and other big names who could reportedly leave for the right price this summer, but I think this is something for later in the window as De Ligt, for example, is now fully focused on the Euros. As I’ve said before, though, Joshua Kimmich is someone who can leave in case of a good proposal.”

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign 17-year-old right-back Pedro Lima from Sport Recife in Brazil.

However, the player will not move directly to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Lima will instead play for French side Strasbourg next season.

Chelsea’s owners bought a majority stake in Strasbourg last year via their BlueCo consortium.

“Key detail: the deal will be done via BlueCo side Strasbourg.

“€7m fixed fee, €3.5m add-ons and player’s agent set to travel for final details.”

Lima has been playing first-team football for Sport Recife since January.

He was previously a part of the Brazil team that reached the quarter-finals of the FIFA U17 World Cup in November 2023.

Lima will certainly not be Chelsea’s only signing this summer.

The Blues are keen on Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran after missing out on Benjamin Sesko, who recently penned a new contract with RB Leipzig.

As reported by Romano in an exclusive column earlier on Wednesday, Chelsea may be able to use Villa’s interest in Conor Gallagher in their quest to sign 20-year-old Duran.

Romano said of Duran: “He is a player Chelsea really like and he remains on their shortlist. With Sesko not joining Chelsea, Duran could be another option, and they already had some conversations with Aston Villa because we know that Villa have issues with Financial Fair Play.

“But another key detail is that Villa also like Conor Gallagher, he’s one of their dream targets. They will sign Ross Barkley in midfield, but Gallagher is also a target and considered a fantastic player. So there have been club-to-club talks, and they have discussed Duran - he won’t be cheap, though, probably around £35-40m.

“Despite interest from some clubs in Italy, Duran is now understood to be giving his priority to Chelsea - he’s really keen on joining Chelsea and would love this possibility. Let’s see what Gallagher also wants to do, but for sure Duran is on Chelsea’s list as a new striker and he is absolutely keen on this possible move, while some talks have taken place, so it’s surely one to watch.”

Villa have interest in signing Gallagher but it remains to be seen what Chelsea will decide regarding the future of the English midfielder and if they want to sell him, what conditions they will put forward to Unai Emery's team.

Chelsea's attack was lead by Nicolas Jackson last season and if Duran comes to the club, the two strikers can compete for a starting spot.

The Man United manager faced criticism for a disappointing season as they finished eighth in the Premier League, which is their worst finish in the competition.

The Premier League club engaged in discussions with other manager to discuss taking charge of the club but all those talks ended without anything materialising between the two parties.

The club ultimately decided that Ten Hag is the best manager available to take the club forward and get them back to their former glory.

The club are now thinking about bringing fresh faces to help the manager and provide him with the best platform to perform next season.

As confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, Man United decided to keep Ten Hag at the club for his wonderful work with young players like Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.

The manager has developed the two youngsters well and his efforts were rewarded when they both scored against Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Erik ten Hag will remain as Manchester United manager following an end of season review by the club’s board.

The 54-year-old who guided United to the FA Cup last season was under huge pressure following an underwhelming campaign which saw the Red Devils finish eighth in the Premier League, and get knocked out of the Champions League in the group stage.

United considered the likes of Thomas Tuchel who met Sir Jim Ratcliffe in Monaco, whilst Gareth Southgate and Roberto De Zerbi were also linked with the job.

However, United have ended speculation surrounding the Dutchman by confirming he will stay, and negotiations over a new contract will commence soon.

Fabrizio Romano took to X.com to confirm the news and said:

“BREAKING: Erik ten Hag stays as Manchester United manager, decision has been made.

“Ten Hag has been informed after final decision by INEOS.

“Contract talks will also follow, as @David_Ornstein has reported.

“Ten Hag will be Man United manager for next season.”

Romano added a further update and said:

“Manchester United have already started initial talks with Erik ten Hag and his camp over new contract.

“Negotiations will follow to agree on new contract, keep going together also on the summer transfer window plans, Ten Hag STAYS.”

The Dutchman arrived from Ajax in 2022 and has won the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup during his time at Old Trafford.

With the managerial situation sorted United can now focus on transfer business as they look to strengthen a squad which struggled last season.

The Red Devils are in the market for defensive reinforcements following the departure of Raphael Varane, and have been linked with a move for Nice centre back Jean-Clair Todibo.

At the other end of the pitch United are looking for a striker to complement and compete with Rasmus Hojlund, whilst they have also expressed a strong interest in Crystal Palace star Michael Olise.

West Ham are closing in on the signing of Palmeiras star Luis Guilherme with the teenager set to sign a six year deal on Wednesday.

Guilherme will become the first signing of the Julen Lopetegui era at the London Stadium after a deal for Flamengo centre back Fabricio Bruno fell through.

The Brazilian made his debut for Palmeiras as a 17-year-old and is now set to swap Brazil for the Premier League.

Fabrizio Romano took to X.com to reveal that Guilherme has completed his medical and will sign his contract on Wednesday.

He said:

“Medical completed today, contract to be signed on Wednesday.

“€23m fee plus €7m add-ons and 20% sell-on clause to Palmeiras, deal sealed by director Tim Steidten.

“Contract until June 2029 + option.”

Guilherme is considered one of the best talents in Brazil, and played at Palmerias with Endrick who has moved to Real Madrid, and Estevao Willian who is set to join Chelsea.

West Ham’s technical director Tim Steidten has been in Brazil to seal the deal and the Hammers fought off late interest from the Saudi Pro League to secure the 18-year-old’s signature.

Guilherme will be a welcome addition to West Ham’s attacking ranks which already boasts the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus.

The Hammers will need to add more players over the summer if they are to climb up the Premier League table next season having missed out on European football under David Moyes during the last campaign.

West Ham are also expected to sign a striker as they look for someone to complement and compete with Michail Antonio.

Seville’s Youssef En-Nesyri and Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy are two names that have been linked to the club, but right now there doesn’t appear to be anything advanced over a new forward.

Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, who attracted attention of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, has maintained that he is still "happy and relaxed" at the Merseyside club.

This year, there has been more conjecture over Diaz's future but the Colombian has stated his intention to continue at Anfield.

The former Porto player has been a regular starter at the club since joining back in 2022.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X, the Colombian international has claimed that he is happy playing for the Reds in the Premier League and not thinking about anything else.

Romano tweeted:

“I’m very happy there at Liverpool, it’s a great team and club, I’ve always wanted to play there, so I’m very happy and relaxed”.

“I’m not thinking about anything else”.

In 94 games, he has scored 24 goals and provided 10 assists, helping Liverpool win the FA Cup and Carabao Cup twice.

As Colombia gets ready for the Copa America later this month, where they will play in the group stage against Brazil, Paraguay, and Costa Rica, Diaz is preparing to take part in the competition.

This should come as a huge boost to new Liverpool manager Arne Slot who is hoping to keep the best players at the club to start his tenure.

Following the departure of Jurgen Klopp from Anfield, Slot has the responsibility of taking charge of the team and challenge for trophies again next season.

Benjamin Sesko has has decided to sign a new contract at RB Leipzig amid speculation surrounding his future at the club.

One of the most sought-after players in European football at the age of 21, the striker is getting ready to represent Slovenia at the European Championship this summer.

He scored 18 goals in a single season for Red Bull Salzburg in 2022–2023 and then equaled that total in his first season in Germany with RB Leipzig.

However, his latest contract with the German team has a gentleman's agreement for a future exit.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X, the talented young striker has decided to cool down rumours of a move away from the club by deciding to sign a new contract and extending his stay with Leipzig.

Romano tweeted:

"EXCLUSIVE: Benjamin Šeško has decided to STAY at RB Leipzig and sign new contract on improved terms!

"Decision made for talented striker, similar to what Haaland decided back in the days at BVB.

"Šeško will stay at Leipzig with a new gentlemen agreement for future exit."

The striker has made a similar decision to what Manchester City striker Erling Haaland did during his time at Borussia Dortmund.

Just like Haaland, Sesko has remained calm over a move to a bigger club by continuing his progress and development with the Bundesliga side.

In 2019, at the age of 16, Sesko left his hometown of Domzale, Austria, to join with RB Salzburg.

He went on to score 21 goals for the first team after spending two years on loan at their reserve team in the second division.

After that, in 2022, he signed a five-year contract to play for RB Leipzig, Salzburg's sister club.
