Barcelona to use Ousmane Dembele fee on Joao Cancelo or Ivan Fresneda

Ousmane Dembele’s move to Paris Saint-Germain is getting to the final stages. Barcelona and PSG need to complete all the documents, then Dembele will have his medical tests and sign a five-year contract. Barca will get more than €25m for Dembele, and part of the money from that deal will go towards the budget for Joao Cancelo - Barcelona tried for him in January, and they weren’t too happy with the negotiations with Manchester City back then, as they said no to letting him go before he then ended up moving on loan to Bayern Munich.

Now Barca want to try again for Cancelo - there will be a new attempt, let’s see if Barcelona will be able to persuade Manchester City. Otherwise, Ivan Fresneda is another right-back option - he’s already in very advanced talks with Barcelona. The contract is ready, the player has said yes, and the agreement between Barca and Valladolid is almost closed, so it now just depends on what happens with Cancelo.
