Official, confirmed: Julian Draxler has joined Qatari side Al Ahli SC from PSG on a permanent deal. He’s signed a contract valid until June 2025 - more on this story in yesterday’s Debrief podcast.
Al Gharafa
2003-born Uruguayan talent Fabricio Diaz has just signed in as new Al Gharafa player, in Qatar. Linked with Barcelona and Brighton in recent months, he’ll now play in Doha for Al Gharafa.
Arsenal
Mikel Arteta on David Raya starting while Aaron Ramsdale was benched: “Trust me — it’s like playing Fabio Vieira or Eddie Nketiah… it is nothing different. I have 11 players to pick and no-one is different.”

Xavi confirms: “As far as I know, both renewals of Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde are well underway and there will be news soon.” Both Lamine and Balde already signed new deals in July. To be announced soon.
Xavi: “Ferran Torres told me in June that he needed to have a great pre-season, and he was right. We have given him the necessary time to demonstrate his intention of wanting to do well, his attitude and work have always been there. He’s and will be important for us.”

Fede Valverde admits he rejected approaches from PL clubs this summer as he only wants Real Madrid. “Premier League offers? I have the ability to play for Real. The day I don’t feel like that, I’m probably going to look for another solution or Real itself will look for one for me.”
Wolves
Wolves have completed a deal to sign 19 year old talented midfielder Tawanda Chirewa — joining from Ipswich Town. The highly rated talent has signed a four year deal.
