Good morning everyone and welcome to another Daily Briefing, delivered ad-free and straight to your inbox as always. Thanks for reading, and enjoy!

Today’s top stories:

  • Lionel Messi scored a hat-trick AGAIN last night

  • Arsenal back in for Dusan Vlahovic?

  • Patrick Dorgu and those links with Chelsea

  • Plus more from Liverpool, Man United & Spurs

Arsenal

  • Gabriel Martinelli has *got* to finish this chance here, surely? What a wasted opportunity when it was still 0-0 and Arsenal lived to regret it. FT Bournemouth 2-0 Arsenal [Pictures from Sky Sports]

  • William Saliba will now miss Arsenal’s next game against Liverpool at home due to the red card in yesterday’s defeat at Bournemouth.

  • Mikel Arteta: “We didn’t capitalise and got punished. We had the biggest chance in the game with Martinelli. It’s a game of errors and tonight we made two big ones and it cost us the game.”

  • Jamie Gittens to Arsenal or Tottenham? Some sources indicate this could be a story to watch after the young English winger’s superb form for Borussia Dortmund…

  • Dusan Vlahovic Arsenal transfer talk continues as sources claim the Gunners are monitoring his contract talks at Juventus ahead of next summer, when he’ll have just a year left on his current deal.

Barcelona

  • Hansi Flick confirms: “Yes, Gavi will be back with the squad against Sevilla tomorrow. He’s available. Dani Olmo and Fermin will also return tomorrow, most likely all of them will be on the bench. Frenkie de Jong is ready, he could start… and Lamine is fine.”

  • Wojciech Szczesny or Inaki Pena? Hansi Flick: “No reason to change. Inaki Pena will start. I can also tell you that the plan is to start Inaki Pena next week against Bayern. I’m happy with Szczesny too but no reason to change now.”

  • Robert Lewandowski will trigger an extension to his contract once he plays 50% of Barcelona’s games this season. Despite there always being rumours about a possible move to Saudi, Lewandowski has this path to extending his stay at Barca after his fantastic form there.
