• Mikel Arteta has admitted that he was disappointed after Arsenal’s 0-0 draw with Everton on Saturday: “I'm disappointed, as we fully deserved to win the game.

  “We did all the right things, we generated big chances, they didn't create any chance... so it's disappointing.”

• Martin Odegaard was taken off for tactical reasons, not a fitness issue, during Arsenal’s match with Everton. Mikel Arteta confirmed this post-match by saying: “Odegaard’s sub? It was a tactical decision. No injury or anything else.”

  “But I understand how it works… If Ethan Nwaneri comes in and scores it’s a great sub. If he doesn’t you’ve taken your captain off.”
