Aston Villa thrash Liverpool to confirm CL football
Aston Villa put in a superb performance to beat Liverpool 4-2 last night and confirm Champions League football for next season.
Morgan Rogers got the ball rolling with a beautifully-taken opening goal, though Virgil van Dijk headed in a free-kick to equalise just a few minutes into the second half.
Villa quickly reasserted their dominance, though, with Ollie Watkins punishing a slip by Dominik Szoboszlai, while John McGinn added some gloss to the score-line with another sublime curling finish.
Van Dijk got another goal back for Liverpool, but it was mere consolation and their Champions League hopes could now be in some doubt if they slip up again on the final day.
