After the current season, Marcos Alonso will depart from Barcelona.

Less than two years ago, the former Chelsea player moved from Stamford Bridge to the Catalan giants.

The player and the club have already decided on the matter.

Sergi Roberto may possibly go away for free as well, although Xavi's future will also play a role in the ultimate choice.

Alonso joined the La Liga giants in September 2022 and played in his first league game, a 4-0 victory over Cadiz, eight days after arriving.

And under manager Xavi, he won the La Liga title in his debut season.

During his 18 months in Barcelona, the former Bolton star has made 44 appearances and scored three goals.

However, the defender has struggled this season as a result of a back injury, missing a lot of games.

And now that he will be leaving Barcelona as a free agent, his time has come to an end.

He won every trophy while at Chelsea, including the league title in his first season, the FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Alonso played in 212 games for the team throughout his six years there, tallying 29 goals.

In other news, Man United have scouted a Barcelona defender.

The Catalans are in talks with one of their key players but there is still no agreement on a new deal.

Barcelona could cash in on one of their attacking players.
