BREAKING: Thomas Tuchel to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season
It's over for Tuchel at Bayern...
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Thomas Tuchel will be leaving his position as manager of Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
The German tactician’s future has looked in doubt recently and it now seems a decision has been made for the club to go in a different direction.
Taking to social media site X this morning, Romano posted: “OFFICIAL: Thomas Tuchel leaves FC Bayern at the end of the current season. Decision made by both club and head coach, Tuchel leaves Bayern in June. It’s over between Bayern and Tuchel.”
Meanwhile, Tuchel himself said in a statement: “We have agreed that we will end our collaboration after the end of this season. Until then, my coaching staff and I will of course continue to do everything we can to ensure maximum success for FC Bayern.”
Former Bayern manager Hansi Flick has been one of the names linked with the job at the Allianz Arena, though he’s understood to be keen on the vacancy that will be open at Barcelona when Xavi leaves in the summer.
Tuchel won the Bundesliga title with Bayern last season but his side now trail Bayer Leverkusen by eight points in this year’s title race.
