Brendan Rodgers’ managerial career so far
This move marks a distinct new chapter for Rodgers, who has spent the vast majority of his coaching career in the United Kingdom.
Celtic: Rodgers returned to Glasgow in 2023 to replace Ange Postecoglou. He successfully guided the Hoops to a league and cup double in his first season back.
However, the 2025/26 campaign soured quickly, leading to his resignation in October amid reported tensions with the board over recruitment and a dip in domestic form.
Leicester City: Perhaps his most impressive stint in England, Rodgers led the Foxes to back-to-back 5th place finishes in the Premier League and famously won the FA Cup in 2021—the first in the club’s history.
Liverpool: Rodgers came agonizingly close to ending Liverpool’s title drought in the 2013/14 season, spearheaded by Luis Suárez, finishing runners-up to Manchester City.
Swansea City: He first burst onto the scene by guiding Swansea to the Premier League via the play-offs in 2011, establishing them in the top flight with a brand of attractive, possession-based football that earned him the Liverpool job.
