Chelsea and Arsenal ahead of Liverpool in Gabriel Moscardo transfer race

Arsenal and Chelsea look to be ahead of Liverpool in the running for the signing of Corinthians midfield wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo at the moment, according to Neil Jones.
Writing exclusively for the Daily Briefing, LFC expert Jones made it clear that his sources have informed him that the interest from both the Gunners and the Blues is stronger at the moment, despite Jurgen Klopp’s side also being mentioned in some reports.
Moscardo is a highly regarded talent in South America right now and it would certainly be intriguing to see him move to a top European club, with Barcelona also mentioned as a possible destination alongside Premier League teams.
It seems, however, that we can probably rule out Liverpool for the moment, with Jones explaining that their preference is to sign players who are more proven in Europe instead of straight from South American clubs.
“Another young Brazilian linked with a move to Merseyside is Gabriel Moscardo of Corinthians, although my information is that both Chelsea and Arsenal have shown far more interest in the 18-year-old than Liverpool have,” Jones wrote.
“Liverpool, generally, do not sign first-team players directly from South America. Their tendency in the past has been to wait and see how a talent develops once it has moved to Europe - think of Diaz, Firmino, Fabinho, Nunez, Mac Allister and Alisson as six great examples - before making their move when the player reaches their early-mid 20s.”
