Chelsea involved in negotiations to sign 20-year-old Premier League striker
Chelsea have identified Aston Villa attacker as their transfer target.
Chelsea have identified Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran as their transfer target as club start talks to complete his signing.
The striker wants to leave his club for a move to Chelsea and negotiations have started between Chelsea and Aston Villa to discuss the transfer.
Aston Villa inquired about signing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, which prompted the west Londoners to see if they can get a deal done for the Colombian striker.
Chelsea have been looking to sign a new striker for a long time and names like Victor Osimhen, Ivan Toney and Viktor Gyokeres have been linked with them.
However, it is the young Premier League striker who is now looking like the most likely attacker to come to Stamford Bridge.
According to information provided by Fabrizio Romano on X, the Premier League clubs are involved in a discussion regarding the transfer and the player himself is adamant to join the Blues.
Romano tweeted:
"Negotiations between Chelsea and Aston Villa for Jhon Duran are ongoing, after initial contact when Villa asked for Conor Gallagher.
"Duran wants Chelsea, he's giving them priority over Italian clubs; understand terms of his potential contract are already being discussed."
Italian clubs have also showed interest in the Aston Villa striker, who scored five Premier League goals last season.
The striker only started three Premier League games for Villa last season as Ollie Watkins is the first choice attacker at Villa Park.
Villa have interest in signing Gallagher but it remains to be seen what Chelsea will decide regarding the future of the English midfielder and if they want to sell him, what conditions they will put forward to Unai Emery's team.
Chelsea's attack was lead by Nicolas Jackson last season and if Duran comes to the club, the two strikers can compete for a starting spot.
The Premier League clubs are discussing the terms of Duran's potential contract as things stand.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are also in the race to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.
