Chelsea plan to keep 26-year-old player at the club despite reports of exit
They see the attacker as a crucial player for their plans next season.
Despite reports that Christopher Nkunku may leave Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have no intention to sell the Frenchman during the summer transfer window.
It was a challenging season for the France international in the Premier League.
During his debut season with the Blues, Nkunku sustained a number of injuries.
He missed 39 games in all competitions as a result of 4 different injury problems.
However, according to information provided by Fabrizio Romano on X, the former RB Leipzig player is a part of Chelsea's plans for next season under new manager Enzo Maresca.
Romano tweeted:
“Christopher Nkunku, key part of Chelsea plans for next season and for the future. No chance for an exit, despite reports on bids and more.
“After unlucky first season, club keeps planning with Nkunku as crucial player and he’s determined to do his best for Chelsea.”
The player is determined to prove himself at Stamford Bridge after failing to make a huge impact so far because of fitness issues.
The club have no chance of letting the Frenchman leave, who they see as a crucial player for the future.
In the summer of 2023, Chelsea signed the 26-year-old from RB Leipzig.
Nkunku, who played in just 11 games for the Premier League club last season, is focused on succeeding at Chelsea following a challenging year and has no intention of leaving the West London team in the summer.
Before joining Chelsea, Nkunku enjoyed a successful individual season in the Bundesliga by scoring 16 goals in the league and getting four assists.
He was expected to reach similar heights with Chelsea but his season was interrupted by injuries.
Meanwhile, Chelsea's stance on the future of midfielder Conor Gallagher has been explained by Fabrizio Romano.
