🔵 Chelsea star "90% likely" to LEAVE this January, expert confirms
It's over for him at Stamford Bridge...
Trevoh Chalobah has been described as 90% likely to leave Chelsea in the upcoming January transfer window by Daily Briefing columnist Fabrizio Romano.
Writing in today’s column, Romano looked at Chalobah’s situation after he came close to leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer, when he had interest from both Bayern Munich and Nottingham Forest.
In the end, Chalobah stayed put on that occasion, but he’s now convinced he needs to leave Chelsea in order to play more regularly.
“Another player to watch is Trevoh Chalobah, as I can confirm now that my information is that he will leave Chelsea in January,” Romano said.
“You may remember that Chelsea were prepared to let him go to Nottingham Forest in the final hours of the transfer window, only for the player to say no. Bayern Munich were also interested in Chalobah and their interest remains, while there are now other clubs as well.
“Chalobah loves Chelsea but he wants to play, so he is prepared to go. A January exit now looks 90% guaranteed, so let’s see how this develops, but in all likelihood he will be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.”
How much could Chalobah cost this January?
Writing for the Daily Briefing earlier this week, Romano expressed his view that Chalobah is an underrated talent, and that he expected he could have a lot of interest this January as his asking price would only be £25m.
“I think his fee could be around £25m as it was in the summer, but again it depends on the negotiation – that’s not guaranteed yet,” Romano said. “Bayern Munich were interested in the summer and in my opinion he can play anywhere – he’s a very good and underrated player.”
