  • Arsenal want Matheus Cunha, but he’s now close to a new contract with Wolves, who have been adamant they don’t want to sell in the middle of the season due to being in a relegation battle.

  • Mikel Arteta on the penalty awarded to Brighton: “I have never seen something like this in my life. I am really disappointed. He touches the ball as well! I checked on the penalty… after three seconds they said they already checked. It seems quick!”

  • Arteta: “Unfortunately we lost Nwaneri with an injury. Kai Havertz tried but was really honest and said ‘I can’t even travel’, and he wasn’t able to train.”

Aston Villa

  • Jaden Philogene is expected to leave Aston Villa on loan this January as talks have already started over his departure. Unai Emery has also confirmed that his exit is a concrete option.
