Declan Rice still hopeful of Arsenal's title fight after Aston Villa defeat
Arsenal midfielder is not yet ready to give up on the dream of winning the Premier League.
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has stated that they still have a chance to win the Premier League this season.
The Gunners' 2-0 loss to Aston Villa on Sunday meant they remained behind league leaders Manchester City.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on his X account, Rice is determined to keep fighting for the league title after suffering a setback against Aston Villa.
The England international said, as quoted by Romano:
"It’s not over yet. We’re in an unbelievable position. We’re still ready, we’re still fully focused on what we want to do and what we can achieve".
"There’s going to be many more twists and turns in the Premier League. Anything can happen".
With six games left, Man City lead the Premier League table by two points and are currently the favourites to win the league for the fourth time in a row.
Arsenal have to get back up fast for their Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Bayern Munich.
The first leg at the Emirates Stadium ended in a 2-2 draw and the Gunners would be hoping that the defeat against Villa on Sunday does not have a negative impact on their Champions League campaign.
Arsenal have two Premier League games before Man City have another as this weekend's FA Cup semi-final matchup pits Pep Guardiola's team against Chelsea.
The Gunners will visit Wolves on Saturday, host Chelsea on Tuesday, and then Man City will play Brighton on Thursday.
Mikel Arteta would be hoping to regain the top spot in the Premier League and put pressure on Guardiola and his team at the business end of the season.
Rice is hopeful that there is still a lot to play for in the Premier League title race and anything can happen between now and the end of the season.
The Gunners would be hoping to avoid what happened last season between them and Man City in the title race.
Meanwhile, one Arsenal midfielder’s future will be decided at the end of the season with Fabrizio Romano providing an update about the young player.
