AC Milan

  • AC Milan director Igli Tare on Manuel Akanji: “The change of system put us in a difficult position because we need to be smart and sign an experienced player, and he’s a fitting profile.” (Sky Sport Italia)

  • AC Milan have turned down a loan offer for Alex Jimenez from Bournemouth with an option to buy for about £17m. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Arsenal

  • Arsenal are on the verge of agreeing a deal for Piero Hincapie, while Jakub Kiwior to Porto has been described as ‘here we go’ as the Gunners were keen to get both deals done. (Fabrizio Romano)

  • Arsenal have agreed to sign Piero Hincapie on an initial loan with a €52m buy option. The Bayer Leverkusen defender will have his medical this weekend and would sign a five-year contract if he joins permanently. (David Ornstein)

  • Marseille are working on deal to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal. The Ukraine international is being targeted in a permanent move, but his salary is considered a major issue. (David Ornstein)
