Plus latest on Chelsea, Arsenal & Man United
AC Milan
Joao Felix: “I didn’t ask AC Milan to play every game, just to play in my position… and Sergio Conceicao wanted exactly to put me in my best position. That was crucial for me to pick AC Milan.”
Arsenal
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has suffered a “worrying muscular injury scare” during the club’s winter training camp in Dubai. Club staff set to assess Havertz’s injury with an official diagnosis to follow soon.
Paul Scholes on Alexander Isak: “Everyone loves him but I don’t see a possibility of him going to Arsenal. He needs to go bigger and better. We’re talking about Real Madrid here, Liverpool need a centre forward. I think Arsenal would be an option but I think they would be down the list of options. I don’t mean that in a bad way but he’s at Newcastle, a really good team, a brilliant team, but they’re not going to win league titles, that’s the next stage of his career. I think it would be a risk to go to Arsenal and do the same thing. Liverpool have got a much better chance, Man City and Real Madrid the same.”
Aston Villa
Unai Emery: “Lamare Bogarde played good again in FA Cup against Spurts. Shows consistency when we need him”. Bogarde’s current contract expires in 2026 and he is high on the list at Sevilla and Ajax for this summer, while a new deal at Villa is also a topic being discussed.
Fabrizio Romano: “Aston Villa and PSG did not include a buy option into the loan deal for Marco Asensio. But both clubs are open to a potential permanent move in the summer based on performances, to be assessed/discussed in June.”
Barcelona
Robert Lewandowski’s new deal with Barcelona will be valid until June 2026 - he’s staying for one more year. It’s never been in doubt and his contract will be formally extended in the coming weeks, part of the current agreement. There was already the green light from both parties.
Bayern Munich
Bayern president Hainer: “As a football fan, you have to say: Florian Wirtz is an outstanding player. Uli Hoeness recently said: You can always dream - I think so too. However, Florian Wirtz is under contract at Bayer Leverkusen.”
