Erik ten Hag issues warning to Manchester City ahead of FA Cup final
Man United manager is not satisfied with only reaching the FA Cup final.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has backed his team to win the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
The Dutchman wants to win the final and claims that he is not satisfied by only qualifying to the final.
The former Ajax manager is confident in his ability to guide Man United to success and he feels he can get the maximum out of the players.
After defeating Championship team Coventry on penalties in the semifinals, despite leading 3-0 with 20 minutes remaining, Ten Hag and his team have come under fire.
They intend to get revenge when they play Manchester City in the same final as last year.
The Man United manager said, as reported by Fabrizio Romano on his X account:
"We are not satisfied by being in the FA Cup final, we want to win it".
"That is what we will go for and it’s our mentality. That is why we are successful".
"That’s why I am successful over 10 years as a manager, I always bring out the maximum of each squad".
Man United can still salvage something from their disappointing season by winning the FA Cup.
But they face Pep Guardiola's Man City who will be hoping to complete the double this season by winning the Premier League and the FA Cup.
Seventh placed Man United host bottom of the league Sheffield United in the Premier League on Wednesday.
The Red Devils are 16 points behind Aston Villa in fourth with six games remaining.
This evening, Man United have to win three points against the Premier League's bottom placed team in order to stay in the running for European qualification.
Depending on how Newcastle United's trip to Crystal Palace plays out, even a draw might move Man United back up to sixth place tonight.
Fabrizio Romano has provided an update about the future of Erik ten Hag at Man United and Thomas Tuchel being linked with the Old Trafford job.
