Martin Odegaard close to new Arsenal deal
Let’s start with the big news that will certainly please Arsenal fans, and that’s that Martin Odegaard is very close to extending his contract with the Gunners. Negotations are going very well, and he wants to stay.
I’m unable to give a clearer timeframe for the moment, but will of course update you when I can. As reported before, though, Odegaard is very happy at Arsenal and they are very happy with him, so it seems like only a matter of time.
If or when Arsenal get this done, it follows other important deals in recent months for Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli as the Arsenal board work to secure the club’s future.
Manchester United could consider winger signing
Erik ten Hag has confirmed that he has no idea when Antony is going to be able to return for Manchester United. Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho is not training with the first-team squad, so it’s a complicated situation leaving Ten Hag a little short of attacking options.
Some players have been offered to United, but my understanding at the moment is that the idea for United is to continue with the current squad, protecting a top young talent like Facundo Pellistri and negotiating a new contract for him.
