Real Madrid’s Kubo option
We’re seeing a lot of transfer rumours about Takefusa Kubo at the moment as he’s doing fantastic for Real Sociedad. It’s been a special season for the club as a whole, but Kubo in particular has been really impressive and he’s attracting interest from many top clubs - a number of teams have been travelling to watch the player this season.
While there is interest from clubs in England, I’d keep an eye on Real Madrid. Barcelona manager Xavi has confirmed he’s a big fan of Kubo, but for the moment the club have different priorities, whereas for Real Madrid, Kubo could be an opportunity. When they sold Kubo to Real Sociedad they included a clause into the contract for a future sale - 50% of the fee from a future sale would go to Real Madrid, which of course also means that they can sign the player for half the asking price.
