There’s no refereeing conspiracy against Arsenal - the standards are just really poor

I thought a draw on Sunday was probably just about the fair result. Arsenal were excellent in the first half and deservedly had a lead at half-time, but you could see they tired in the second half and Liverpool took advantage with that late equaliser. It was a tight game and a draw was probably the right outcome.

I do think, however, that Arsenal have every right to feel incredibly hard done by in terms of some of the decisions that went against them. I just do not understand how Virgil van Dijk got away with kicking Kai Havertz early on. Anthony Taylor is looking right at the incident and yet he does nothing. How on earth that is not at least a yellow card I have no idea. 

Gabriel Martinelli could easily have had a penalty after that and the decision to penalise Jakub Kiwior for a foul late on when Arsenal thought they had grabbed a winner was laughable. That is not a foul in a million years. 

Dominik Szoboszlai does not even try to jump. He bottles the challenge, turns his back and actually could have really hurt Kiwior by making a bit of a ramp for the Arsenal defender who has eyes only for the ball. He wins it cleanly and does nothing wrong. How Taylor can penalise him for that I have no idea.
