EXCLUSIVE: Al Ettifaq to offer Jesse Lingard 2024 pre-contract
Former Manchester United midfielder finally has offer from a new club
Saudi Pro League club Al Ettifaq will offer Jesse Lingard a contract from next year after the former Manchester United midfielder impressed while training with the club recently.
That’s according to Daily Briefing columnist, Fabrizio Romano, who has exclusively revealed some potentially important news for Lingard, who has been without a club since he left Nottingham Forest at the end of last season.
Al Ettifaq manager Steven Gerrard has been particularly impressed with Lingard with the former Liverpool captain now pushing for his employers to sign the English midfielder at the earliest opportunity.
The biggest obstacle for the Saudi side to overcome is that their squad is currently at full capacity. As soon as they’re able to offload some names in order to accommodate Lingard, they will. Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum are also desperate for Al Ettifaq to sign Lingard.
The decision to sign the contract from 2024 will be made by the player in the coming weeks.
