Chelsea have yet another signing on the way with a deal almost done for Senegalese wonderkid Pape Daouda Diong, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Posting on X earlier today, Romano showed a picture of Diong at Stamford Bridge yesterday for the Carabao Cup win over Newcastle United, with Ecuadorian youngster Kendry Paez also attending his first game for the west Londoners.

Revealing the details of the deal, Romano said: “Chelsea are closing in on deal to sign Senegal U17 midfielder Pape Daouda Diong from AF Darou Salam! Deal almost done. Pape was pictured at Stamford Bridge yesterday close to Kendry Paez.”
He added: “Born in 2006, Diong will be able to join in June 2024 when he will turn 18.”
In other Chelsea news, Romano has also responded to transfer rumours regarding Trevoh Chalobah and potential moves to Tottenham or Roma.
Writing in his Daily Briefing column earlier today, Romano said: “Some fans have been asking me about stories emerging yesterday involving Trevoh Chalobah and potential moves to Tottenham or Roma.
“Stories like this are normal when you get close to January, but I’m not aware of anything concrete yet. For sure I still see Chalobah leaving in January, but the club is not clear yet also because he’s injured, so it will take some time.”
