🚨 Frank Lampard to Chelsea nearly done as we await club statement
Fabrizio Romano provides an update on Frank Lampard.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Frank Lampard is all set to become Chelsea’s interim manager until the end of the season.
Tweeting from his official account, the transfer news expert and CaughtOffside columnist said: “Documents are ready and all set to be signed for Frank Lampard as Chelsea caretaker manager — just waiting on club statement. Lampard will be under contract until the end of the season. Ashley Cole will be part of the coaching staff.”
Lampard had a spell as Chelsea manager between 2019 and 2021, and was most recently in charge of Premier League strugglers Everton.
As revealed in the Daily Briefing earlier today, Lampard’s arrival won’t change Chelsea’s intention to find new coach for the long term. Both Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique remain in the race, and any new manager would now be set to take charge of the first-team in the summer.
Both Nagelsmann and Enrique have had good conversations with Chelsea, they have different vision and ideas, which is why Chelsea will take their time before making a final decision. Enrique would love to work in the Premier League, that’s for sure, he’s 100% sure he wants this job.
I think Frank should be given some time to just get a hold of the rhythm at Chelsea before any wild expectations are imposed on him.. Here's more: https://www.maniainc.com/frank-lampard-set-to-take-over-as-chelseas-caretaker-manager/
I prefer Luiz Enrique because of his tactics and ability to build a big strong Team to compete with any Team of the world.
