Haaland knocks out Brazil with memorable brace
Norway pulled off a huge World Cup 2026 shock with a 2-0 win over Brazil, thanks to a brilliant double from Erling Haaland.
Brazil had plenty of the ball, but Norway stayed organised and took their chances when it mattered.
Haaland’s two goals proved the difference, giving Norway a famous victory on the biggest stage.
For Brazil, it was a frustrating night as they struggled to break Norway down and were punished by one of the world’s most clinical strikers.

England beat Mexico in thriller at Azteca
England survived a dramatic night in Mexico City to beat co-hosts Mexico 3-2 and book a World Cup quarter-final against Norway.
Playing 2,200 metres above sea level, Thomas Tuchel’s side made a strong start as Jude Bellingham scored twice early on to quieten the home crowd.
Mexico fought back through Julian Quinones, and England were put under even more pressure when Jarell Quansah was sent off early in the second half.
Harry Kane restored England’s cushion from the penalty spot before Raul Jimenez scored a late penalty for Mexico, but England held on with discipline and character to seal a memorable win.
