UEFA’s official statement on the Julian Alvarez penalty. “Atletico de Madrid enquired with UEFA over the incident, which led to the disallowance of the kick from the penalty mark taken by Julian Alvarez at the end of yesterday’s UEFA Champions League match against Real Madrid. Although minimal, the player made contact with the ball using his standing foot before kicking it, as shown in the attached video clip. Under the current rule (Laws of the Game, Law 14.1), the VAR had to call the referee signalling that the goal should be disallowed. UEFA will enter discussions with FIFA and IFAB to determine whether the rule should be reviewed in cases where a double touch is clearly unintentional.”
Barcelona
Official, confirmed: Inigo Martinez has officially signed a new deal with Barcelona valid until June 2026.
Bayern Munich
Official, confirmed. Joshua Kimmich has signed a new long-term deal to commit his future to Bayern Munich until June 2029.

Medical DONE for Quenda after secret blitz, he will join Chelsea in 2026. Club to club agreement completed with Sporting and Quenda said yes to Chelsea project & Enzo Maresca’s plans.”
Enzo Maresca: “We are on the same page as the fans because this club has always won trophies in the past. We need to do our best to achieve our target this season. It’s normal the fans look for trophies.”

Napoli have reached a verbal agreement to sign Empoli talent Luca Marianucci for next season. The 2004-born Italian centre-back has agreed to sign a five-year contract at Napoli. A verbal agreement is all done for a transfer fee of almost €10m. The clubs still need to sign all the relevant documents to get the deal sealed.
