Iker Muniain calls time on long term Athletic Bilbao career
The Spaniard has decided to leave the club after 15 seasons in the first team.
After this season, Iker Muniain has made the decision to quit Athletic Club.
Just behind Jose Angel Iribar in terms of appearances made, Muniain is departing Athletic after 15 seasons in the first team of the club.
He managed to play 557 games for the La Liga club.
Muniain's career at Athletic is noteworthy: he enrolled in the club's academy at the age of 12 and, at 16 became one of the youngest players to debut in the club's history.
He won two Super Cups, the most recent Copa del Rey, which broke a 40-year drought, and scored 75 goals in various competitions throughout the years.
