Jurgen Klopp praises Trent Alexander-Arnold after Fulham win
The Liverpool right-back started the scoring with a thumping free-kick goal.
Trent Alexander-Arnold returned to rekindle his team's Premier League title hopes with a convincing victory against Fulham at Craven Cottage, and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp lauded the influence of the player.
Alexander-Arnold's magnificent first-half free kick helped Klopp's team recover and go back up to second place, equal on points with Arsenal.
The goal from Alexander-Arnold also settled the nerves of the Reds when they were finding it a bit difficult to break down Fulham.
Klopp hails the Liverpool right-back as reported by Fabrizio Romano on his X account.
The German said, as quoted by Romano:
"Conor Bradley played a few games or football where we all thought: oh, wow! What was that?".
"But the truth is that nobody is like Trent, that's the way it is".
Following Timothy Castagne's strike to tie the score for Fulham, goals from Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota in the second half gave Liverpool their composure back.
A win that would have been taken for granted was given even more significance since it occurred at the conclusion of a week that included an unexpected home loss to Crystal Palace and a disappointing Europa League exit.
Liverpool have surpassed Manchester City to take second position in the Premier League standings, only behind Arsenal, who lead solely on goal difference.
Before beginning the weekend's action on the road against West Ham United on Saturday lunchtime, Klopp's team will now have to deal with the Merseyside derby against Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update about the reports linking Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini to the Liverpool job.
