Can Jurgen Klopp pull off another super deal?
Although there’s still some while to go before the transfer window opens again for business, there could be some more good news on the horizon for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.
Despite perhaps not doing as much incoming business as supporters may have hoped across the summer, those players that were brought in have settled well, and Klopp has his stars playing at the top of the game once more.
After an underwhelming 2022/23, the Reds are sat in fourth after eight games and just three points behind joint leaders, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
With the right recruitment in January, as long as the Merseysiders are still keeping pace at the top of the Premier League table, there’s no reason why they can’t push on in the second half of the season and give everyone around them a run for their money.
Although the start of the new year is likely to be too soon, one player that could help them in the future is Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala.
As Daily Briefing columnist, Christian Falk, noted on X (formerly Twitter), the Reds are interested in a player whose agents won’t discuss a contract extension with the Bavarians.
Though the 20-year-old’s current deal does still have a while to run yet, it’s clear that the Bundesliga champions won’t want to leave it until the last knockings before deciding to let him move on.
If his intention is to take advantage of Liverpool’s advances, then Bayern would do well to get as much money as they can for a player who is certain to be a footballing superstar.
