Today’s top stories:
Arsenal end their season on a high
Arsenal marked their first Premier League title triumph in 22 years by beating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park.
Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring in the 41st minute, before Noni Madueke gave Arsenal a two-goal cushion just after half-time.
Jean-Philippe Mateta pulled one back late on for Palace, and the hosts thought they had grabbed a dramatic equaliser through Yeremy Pino in stoppage time, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.

Aston Villa ruin Guardiola’s farewell
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City farewell did not end with the perfect send-off, as his side were beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium.
City had taken the lead through Antoine Semenyo, who scored his 11th goal since joining from Bournemouth in January. But Villa fought back in the heat, with Ollie Watkins scoring twice to spoil Guardiola’s final afternoon in charge.
The match carried a huge emotional weight, with Guardiola managing City for the 593rd and final time after a remarkable 10-year spell that delivered 20 trophies.

Tottenham avoid relegation on final day
João Palhinha’s goal just before half-time proved decisive as Tottenham secured Premier League survival with a 1-0 win over Everton at home.
After losing to Chelsea on Tuesday, Spurs knew they needed at least a point to make sure their top-flight status was safe. Palhinha’s 43rd-minute strike gave them all three, meaning West Ham’s result against Leeds no longer mattered in the relegation battle.

Bruno Fernandes breaks PL assist record
Brighton had to settle for Conference League qualification after Manchester United spoiled their final-day hopes with a dominant 3-0 win in Michael Carrick’s first game as permanent manager.
Brighton started the day in control of the Europa League race, but United took charge when Bruno Fernandes assisted Patrick Dorgu’s opener, breaking the Premier League assist record with 21.
Bryan Mbeumo made it 2-0 before half-time, before Fernandes capped off his Player of the Season campaign by scoring United’s third after the break.
In short: United won 3-0, Fernandes broke the assist record and scored, while Brighton dropped into the Conference League.
