Premier League Round-up
West Ham get crucial three points against Newcastle
West Ham claimed their first home victory since February and their first under new manager Nuno Espírito Santo, with a stunning 3-1 win over a struggling Newcastle United side.
An early strike from Jacob Murphy gave Newcastle the lead, but it proved to be nothing more than a consolation. Lucas Paquetá equalised before a Sven Botman own goal turned the game in the Hammers’ favour, and Tomáš Souček sealed the result with a late finish.
After looking like relegation candidates in their opening nine matches, West Ham produced what was arguably the shock result of the Premier League weekend, reigniting belief at the London Stadium.

Erling Haaland struck twice as Manchester City climbed to second in the Premier League with a 3-1 win over Bournemouth.
The Norwegian’s incredible scoring run continued with two first-half goals, coming on either side of Tyler Adams’ equaliser, before Nico O’Reilly added a third to seal the victory.
Haaland’s brace took his tally to 13 goals in just 10 games this season, underlining his relentless form in front of goal.
