Sunderland move into top four after Everton draw
Sunderland and Everton played out a 1-1 stalemate at the Stadium of Light on Monday night, with the hosts battling back from a goal down to earn a valuable point and stay within the Champions League qualification spots.
Iliman Ndiaye opened the scoring for the visitors after weaving past several Sunderland defenders before slotting home with a composed finish.
However, under the guidance of French manager Régis Le Bris, Sunderland responded almost immediately after the restart, as Granit Xhaka’s low-driven effort took a crucial deflection off James Tarkowski to level the contest.
