🚨 Insider drops major transfer bombshell - implications for Liverpool, Tottenham & Chelsea
Some big potential developments emerging here...
A major transfer story has dropped today that has big implications for Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, and Real Madrid.
According to former Everton chief Keith Wyness, speaking on The Inside Track podcast, there are mixed reports coming out on Rodrygo Goes’ future.
As is often the case with big names like Rodrygo, different sources seem to be saying different things, with Chelsea ruled out of the running by Fabrizio Romano despite some outlets in Brazil talking up the potential deal in recent days.
Wyness now seems confident that Tottenham are the favourites for the Brazil international, though he’s also heard surprise talk of a swap deal involving Liverpool flop Florian Wirtz.
Rodrygo tipped for Tottenham, but Liverpool swap deal could be one to watch
“I think he’ll go to Spurs, but the whisper I got was a potential swap deal with Wirtz as part of it from Liverpool,” Wyness said.
“Now, given the start that Wirtz has had, that isn’t beyond the realms of the imagination. I think he may fit better into the Real Madrid style of play and the La Liga style of play.

“I think that may be something that could have some currency in it. I didn’t dismiss it out of hand straight away.
“But I do think that Spurs will be the ones that end up paying the money to get him across from Real Madrid. I expect Spurs to push hard, but that Liverpool-Wirtz story did seem to make some sense to me.”
Could Liverpool really let Florian Wirtz leave already?
Any talk of Wirtz leaving this soon after joining Liverpool for such big money seems fanciful at best.
The Germany international is a quality talent, as he showed at Bayer Leverkusen, and the Reds signed him for the long term, so they’ll surely be patient with him even if he’s made an undoubtedly disappointing start.
Not every player can hit the ground running when moving to a new league, and it’s clear that Wirtz is far from the only problem in Arne Slot’s side right now.
Liverpool’s defence is far worse than last season, while Mohamed Salah’s form has also gone dramatically downhill. Meanwhile, other summer signings such as Jeremie Frimpong, Alexander Isak and Milos Kerkez have been just as, if not more, disappointing than Wirtz.
Let’s see if this story has any legs to it, but it seems highly surprising and probably not something that would be in Liverpool’s interests anyway.
Even if Rodrygo were on offer, he’s been poor for the last few months and likely wouldn’t appeal much to LFC right now, with superior options out there if they want a new wide-forward.
