Man City want to keep 24-year-old despite Paris Saint-Germain approach
Premier League champions have no intention to let player who scored 11 league goals last season leave.
Manchester City attacker Julian Alvarez has been the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentina attacker is looking for more first team opportunities and in order to do that, he is contemplating leaving the club for more playing time in his preferred position.
The striker is Man City's second choice behind Erling Haaland and he is only used when Haaland is either rested or injured.
In order to get a starting role, his entourage has informed the Premier League champions of the player's intentions.
The Sky Blues have no plans to accept a loan offer for the striker this summer and they want to keep the player at the Etihad Stadium and want him to become a part of their quest to win five Premier League titles in a row next season.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X, Pep Guardiola's team have no desire of letting the attacker leave the club despite interest from PSG.
Romano tweeted:
"Manchester City are not planning to accept any loan proposal for Julián Álvarez this summer.
"He wants to play more and club has been informed by Álvarez’s camp, City still want to keep Julián.
"Paris Saint-Germain approached Álvarez agent in the recent days, as revealed."
In his first two seasons at the Etihad Stadium, Alvarez has scored 36 goals.
Some of the biggest clubs in the world have taken notice of the 24-year-old due to his excellent performances, which also included winning the World Cup with Argentina.
Alvarez has won many trophies at the Etihad, including the Champions League in 2022-23 and the Premier League in both of his seasons in England
In addition, he has won the Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FA Cup.
With Kylian Mbappé's departure, PSG will probably be looking for a forward this summer.
Man City are determined to keep the player at the club but his intention to play more and get a bigger role could change things in the near future.
In other news, Man City goalkeeper Ederson has been linked with an exit from the club, according to Fabrizio Romano.
