🚨 Man United and Newcastle eyeing "a very interesting opportunity" says Romano
Bundesliga hit-man sought
It seems that Bundesliga side Stuttgart could have made a huge mistake in keeping Serhou Guirassy’s release clause so low, as his goalscoring exploits have alerted some of European football’s biggest names.
Guirassy has already amassed 15 goals in 12 games in the German top-flight this season, almost half of the 31 his team have scored and which places them third in the table behind unbeaten pair, Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich.
There can scarcely have been a mid-season opportunity like the one that will be available to interested clubs in January, because Guirassy’s clause is set at a paltry €17.5m.
Whilst he’s unproven in the Premier League, that hasn’t stopped Man United and Newcastle registering an interest, though it appears that they’ll have a fight on their hands to land their man.
“Stuttgart's Serhou Guirassy also has a release clause in his contract, and it’s super cheap at just €17.5m. He’s scoring lots of goals in the Bundesliga and he’s available in the January transfer window,” Fabrizio Romano said in his exclusive Daily Briefing column.
“I told you last month about this clause and many clubs - in Germany, in Italy, in England and in different countries - are considering this deal. We’ve heard rumours about Manchester United and Newcastle and both have asked for information about Guirassy.
“Guirassy, for that money, could be a very interesting opportunity.”
The Red Devils need for a target man is obvious, as Rasmus Hojlund has failed to hit the heights whilst the likes of Marcus Rashford et al are woefully out of form.
The Magpies already have Alexander Isak in situ, but Guirassy would provide some competition for places and arguably improve the striking dynamic at the club.
Which club would be a better fit for Serhou Guirassy? Could we see a bidding war this January? Let us know in the comments!
