Leeds United put West Ham in more misery

Leeds United earned a vital 2–1 victory over West Ham United, bringing much-needed relief and celebration for manager Daniel Farke and his side.

Early goals from Brenden Aaronson and Joe Rodon gave Leeds the perfect start, putting them firmly in control before West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes pulled one back late in the match to set up a tense finish.

Arsenal

• Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus, 28, wants to remain at Arsenal at least until his current contract expires in June 2027. (ESPN)

• Eberechi Eze: “I was prepared to go to Tottenham… but from the moment Arsenal came, it was always going to be them. Playing for Arsenal are more like a show or theatre. There’s more pressure, playing for titles, but it’s something I’ve dreamed of”, told The Athletic.

Bournemouth

• Bournemouth would demand over £75M for Antoine Semenyo, with Liverpool one of several clubs eyeing a move for the forward. The Cherries would be extremely reluctant to entertain selling Semenyo in January and any move would likely be slated for next summer. (Daily Mail)

Chelsea

• Chelsea could save £52m if they hold off on signing France centre-back Dayot Upamecano until next summer when he is a free agent - but risk missing out on the 26-year-old should Bayern Munich sell in January, with Liverpool among the clubs interested. (Football.London)

• John Terry has said his “dream” is to manage Chelsea and that he finds it “difficult to fathom” that he has been knocked back from head coach roles due to inexperience.

• Chelsea are continuing to explore the market for a new goalkeeper. They could look at a loan deal for Marc-Andre ter Stegen, before attempting to sign AC Milan’s France international Mike Maignan next summer on a free transfer. • Fulham are increasing efforts to agree a new contract with manager Marco Silva and prevent the Portuguese boss walking away at the end of the season. (Football Insider)

Liverpool

• There is a big relief within the Liverpool board that Florian Wirtz produced 2 assists in his last game. But there are serious concerns regarding Wirtz’s partnership with Mo Salah. • Manchester United are considering a €70M offer for Athletic Club midfielder Oihan Sancet as Ruben Amorim prepares for life without Bruno Fernandes next season. Sancet has scored 43 goals and made 18 assists in 202 matches for Athletic.

• Manchester United have added Atlético Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher to their list of potential January signings. While United’s hierarchy are keen on arranging a loan move, Atlético are pushing for a permanent transfer, seeking a fee close to the €40M they paid Chelsea for the player. (talkSPORT)

• Real Madrid are willing to pay 100m euros (£87m) to sign 20-year-old Turkey forward Kenan Yildiz from Juventus. (Fichajes)

• Real Madrid retain concrete interest in Juventus’ star Khéphren Thuram, brother of Marcus and son of Lilian.
