Florian Wirtz and Sane inspire Germany to victory

Florian Wirtz and Leroy Sane were instrumental in Germany’s 6-0 win against Slovakia, a win that sealed their qualification to the World Cup in 2026.

Sane scored a brace along with goals from Nick Woltemade, Serge Gnabry, Ridle Baku and Assan Ouedraogo.

Wirtz contributed with two assists in the match, ensuring his country’s qualification to the biggest competition in football.

Poland left it late to win crucial match against Malta

Poland’s Piotr Zielinski delivered late drama with a decisive goal to secure a 3-2 win away to Malta on Monday, but the victory ultimately wasn’t enough for them to climb to the top of their World Cup qualifying group.

Instead, the Polish national team will have to settle for a playoff spot as they chase a place at next year’s finals. Robert Lewandowski and Pawel Wszolek scored the other two goals for Poland.
