Man United youngster has decided to leave the club for a move to Serie A
After making his debut last season, the player has decided to leave for a new experience.
One of Manchester United's most highly-regarded young players Omari Forson has decided to leave the club to join Monza in Serie A.
After making his first team debut in an FA Cup victory against Wigan earlier this year, Forson unexpectedly entered Erik ten Hag's starting lineup for a Premier League match against Fulham due to a number of injuries sustained by first team players.
Forson is currently in Italy and is anticipated to sign a four-year contract with Monza that runs until June 2028.
Erik ten Hag, who handed the highly-rated teenager his first-team debut last season, would be devastated to see the player leave the club.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X, the 19-year-old is close to completing his move to the Serie A side after deciding to leave the Red Devils.
Romano tweeted:
"Omari Forson, in Italy today in order to sign in as new Monza player after leaving Manchester United as revealed last week.
"Contract valid until June 2028 for Omari who decided to leave Man United and try new experience in Serie A."
With just two less games won than the defending champion Napoli, Monza concluded the 2023-24 Serie A season in 12th position.
It is a brave decision from the young player to move to the Italian league where he will be given more opportunities to play for the first team.
Among his most noteworthy performances in the 2023–24 campaign was when he brilliantly set up Kobbie Mainoo's game-winning goal in the 4–3 triumph against Wolves at the Molineux.
The youngster joined Man United from Tottenham back in 2019 and rose through the club's youth teams.
He was a part of the club's FA Youth-Cup winning team in 2022 which also included current Man United players Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.
Along with Forson, another Man United player could leave the club as the Red Devils have decided to sell Jadon Sancho in order to raise funds in the summer transfer window.
