Arsenal
Mikel Arteta: “When you look at Max Dowman in training, you have to play him - if not you are blind, or I’m blind. The feeling that I have is that, genuinely, he loves it here. He’s huge Arsenal supporter and his family also. Hopefully for many years he will be with us.” (Press conference)
Arteta: “Young players at Arsenal believe that they’re going to have a pathway. If they earn it then it doesn’t matter how you’re called. You’re going to get a chance. They know that. They believe in that and they really want it which is the most important thing.” (Press conference)
Jamie Carragher tips Gabriel for PFA Player of the Year: “I think if Arsenal go on and win the league, right now, I think he’s the number one contender. Actually John Terry is the only one to win the Premier League in the year he won the PFA Player of the Year award. But when you actually look at John Terry and Virgil van Dijk’s role, look at the goals. They’re not just big leaders at the back, the number of goals they get… and [Gabriel’s] record is actually far better than theirs when you look at those numbers.” (Sky Sports)
Barcelona
Barcelona midfielder Pedri has suffered a muscle injury and will be assessed by the club’s staff. He didn’t train with the rest of the squad yesterday. (RAC1)

Chelsea
Eden Hazard is the latest player to be inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame. Hazard: “I grew up playing football for fun, with my brothers in the back garden, but my dream was always to play at the highest level. It means a lot to join the Premier League Hall of Fame. I’m very proud to join this group of players and I think we could make a good squad!”
Enzo Maresca on Alejandro Garnacho: “Garnacho’s doing well. We are trying to manage Ale since he arrived not at 100% from Man United. He is working hard every day, he is getting better and better, and in this moment we are happy with the way he is playing.” (Press conference)
Maresca on Liam Delap’s red card: “It’s a stupid red card. Delap should avoid that. After the yellow card, I told him four or five times to stay calm. When he is on the pitch, he sometimes plays the game for himself and struggles to see the others around him.”
Juventus
Luciano Spalletti has reached an agreement to become the new Juventus manager. A verbal agreement is in place for a deal until June 2026 plus the option to extend based on qualifying for the Champions League this season. Formal steps and contracts are being checked by lawyers before signing all documents. (Fabrizio Romano)
Liverpool
Arne Slot after the Crystal Palace game: “I saw Manchester City’s starting eleven and they didn’t have one starter from the weekend but it felt like their best team. That is a bit of an insight. Chelsea can bring Estevao in… then after I made two substitutions tonight, we had six teenagers.” (Press conference)
Mohamed Salah could leave Liverpool for the Saudi Pro League, with clubs there ready to pay him an astronomical £150m per year if he joins. (TBR Football)

Real Madrid
Vinicius Junior has released the following statement: “Today I want to apologize to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clasico. Just as I have already done in person during today’s training, I also want to apologize again to my teammates, the club, and the president. Sometimes passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and help my team. My competitive character stems from the love I feel for this club and everything it represents. I promise to keep fighting every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have done since the first day.”
