❌ Manchester United DENY contacting exciting young manager to replace Erik ten Hag
What's going on with the Man Utd manager situation?
Manchester United have denied making any contact over potentially hiring Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim as a replacement for Erik ten Hag.
It’s not been the best start to the season at Old Trafford, and there has been growing talk of Man Utd potentially making another change in manager, as they’ve done several times now in this chaotic post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
Still, Fabrizio Romano revealed in his Daily Briefing column earlier today that Amorim is not looking likely to move in the middle of the season, while the Red Devils themselves are denying contacts with the Portuguese tactician or any other potential managerial candidates.
“Ruben Amorim has done a hugely impressive job at Sporting Lisbon and we’ve seen him linked with big clubs in the Premier League and elsewhere, with Manchester United the latest name to come up in some media reports,” Romano said.
“Still, Manchester United have been very clear in denying any contact with other managers, there’s nothing at all now - not a list or anything like that. Of course they want results to improve, that’s crucial but nothing else is happening now. For Amorim, nothing happening at this point of the season for sure.
“As previously reported, United’s plan is to trust Ten Hag, even if it has been a difficult period and things need to improve. It’s normal to see speculation, but I can confirm once again that there is no truth to the Amorim links for the moment - nothing is happening.
Is it time for United to make a change and could Amorim be the man for the job? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
