Manchester United are the latest club to show an interest in Sporting Lisbon defender Goncalo Inacio, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils are on the lookout for centre-back options for 2024, with others like Benfica youngster Antonio Silva also on their list of potential targets.

Inacio is another Portugal-based player being monitored by Man Utd, according to Romano, who also says that Liverpool and Newcastle United have been showing an interest in the 22-year-old in recent times.

“I can confirm that Goncalo Inacio is another name on their list of centre-back targets, along with other names I recently told you, such as Edmond Tapsoba and Antonio Silva,” Romano said.

“United are now sending their scouts to Portugal to watch, not just Silva, but also Inacio. Then in the next months they will decide with Ten Hag which player is right for them, and how much they want to spend.

“Inacio has also been on the list at Liverpool and Newcastle in recent years, while Sporting also extended his contract during the summer. He’s a very talented player, so let’s see how his situation evolves in the months ahead.”

Does Inacio look like the right signing in defence for Man Utd? Let us know in the comments!
