Mauricio Pochettino issues update about Romelu Lukaku's future at Chelsea
Lukaku has spent the season away from Chelsea on loan to AS Roma.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has opened the door for Romelu Lukaku to have a future at Stamford Bridge.
Although the manager added that the club have still not made any decision, he called Lukaku "an option" while discussing the Belgian striker.
The 30-year-old has scored 18 goals for Roma in all competitions this season, regaining his goal-scoring form.
This season, he has excelled especially in Europe, where he has already scored seven goals in the Europa League.
Fabrizio Romano has reported on his X account what the Chelsea manager had to say about Lukaku.
Pochettino said, as quoted by Romano:
"He’s a Chelsea player, so for sure we will pay attention. It’s an option".
"But still we did not take any decision about Lukaku", he added.
Big changes are expected at Stamford Bridge in the summer with the club looking to sign and offload some players.

Chelsea could be busy in the market to sign a new centre-back.
As for the future of Lukaku, it is still undecided what will happen to the Belgian striker.
Pochettino has confirmed that the club has not made any decision yet. However, he is still being considered as an option.
For the second straight season, the 30-year-old is on loan away from Stamford Bridge.
Before leaving the Premier League club, he managed to score 15 goals in 44 games for Chelsea.
The next season, Lukaku went back on loan to Inter Milan where he scored 14 goals. He then went on loan to Roma for the 2023–24 season.
He is helping the Italian giants to win the Europa League this season. The Serie A club knocked out AC Milan in the Europa League quarterfinal.
