Messi inspires Argentina to a thrilling comeback
Argentina produced a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Egypt in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, surviving a huge scare after going two goals down.
Egypt stunned the defending champions through Yasser Ibrahim in the 15th minute before Mostafa Ziko doubled their lead in the 67th minute.
But Argentina fought back late in incredible fashion. Cristian Romero pulled one back in the 79th minute, Lionel Messi equalised four minutes later, and Enzo Fernández completed the comeback with a stoppage-time winner in the 93rd minute.

Switzerland beat Colombia to set up Argentina clash
Switzerland booked their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals after a tense 0-0 draw with Colombia, winning 4-3 on penalties after 120 minutes of goalless football.
Neither side could find a breakthrough in normal time or extra time, with both defences staying compact and the match eventually coming down to the shootout.
There were no goal scorers during open play, but the shootout brought plenty of drama. Switzerland scored through Granit Xhaka, Zeki Amdouni, Cedric Itten and Ruben Vargas, while Manuel Akanji missed.
For Colombia, Juan Fernando Quintero, Jaminton Campaz and Luis Díaz scored, but Davinson Sánchez hit the bar and Cucho Hernández had his penalty saved by Gregor Kobel.
