Newcastle ace's new contract could be signed in "in the next days" says Romano
More good news for the Toon Army
After a stunning Carabao Cup victory over Manchester City, there could soon be some more good news to follow for Newcastle and their supporters.
Eddie Howe is slowly but surely building a side capable of challenging on all fronts, and key to their successes thus far is Brazilian midfield dynamo, Bruno Guimaraes.
The player quickly established himself as a fan favourite at St. James’ Park and has been one of Howe’s most reliable performers as the squad go from strength to strength.
An official announcement concerning his new contract should be long in coming according to Fabrizio Romano.
“Everything will be fine”
“It’s also important to mention now that I'm told that the deal will be signed in the next days or weeks,” he wrote in his exclusive Daily Briefing column.
“Guys, it's not going to be long before we see Bruno holding up a Newcastle shirt with 2028 on it. The new deal is ready and everything is set to be signed and sealed between the parties.
“Everything will be fine and Bruno will extend his contract.”
With a pass completion rate that’s always in the high 80s according to WhoScored, and the desire and drive he brings to the Newcastle midfield alongside Joelinton, tying Bruno down for the long-term was imperative.
If the announcement was to come ahead of the expected Champions League epic against Paris Saint-Germain next week too, it would undoubtedly add to what should be the best atmosphere heard at St. James Park in decades.
