PSG forward WILL leave in January and Premier League could be his next destination
This PSG forward's future is in doubt.
Hugo Ekitike will be leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed in his Daily Briefing column earlier today.
The 21-year-old hasn’t had much playing time at PSG since his move from Reims, and this has led to speculation that he could soon be allowed a move away.
Romano has now confirmed this, mentioning Crystal Palace and Eintracht Frankfurt as clubs who’ve previously shown an interest in the Frenchman.
“Hugo Ekitike - The young forward will leave PSG in January, let’s see which clubs will try to sign him as it remains a quiet situation at the moment,” Romano said.
“It will be one for December. Crystal Palace had him on their list but then nothing else concrete, he was also on Eintracht Frankfurt’s list.”
Ekitike to move to England next?
Ekitike notably came close to joining Newcastle United before moving to PSG, and some sources have continued to link him with the likes of West Ham, though Romano did not confirm those links in his column today.
Still, it seems Ekitike has not closed the door to playing in the Premier League, as he previously explained his decision to choose PSG.
“I’m not setting aside everything Newcastle did for me to come. If I had to go abroad, I would have gone there. But when PSG wants you and you’re French, you can’t refuse,” he told Le Parisien last year.
