Real Madrid make Arda Guler decision as player gets ready for Euro 2024
The Turkish midfielder saw limited opportunities in the team that won the La Liga and the Champions League titles.
Due to injuries, Arda Guler missed a significant portion of the 2023–24 season and wasn't added to the starting lineup right away.
His limited playing time in the starting line up created conversation about a potential move away from the newly crowned Champions League winners.
However, Real Madrid will not allow Turkish midfielder Guler to go on loan for the upcoming campaign as they place a higher priority on his development while keeping a close check on him.
Real Madrid and Guler have made it clear that they plan to stick together, with the goal of increasing the former Fenerbahçe starlet's playing time.
According to information provided by Fabrizio Romano on X, the Spanish giants have decided to keep the player at the club and the player himself has never expressed his desire of a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
Romano tweeted:
"Real Madrid have received several requests for Arda Güler on loan but the answer has always been the same so far: he’s staying.
"Arda, focused on Euro 2024 and also happy to stay, fighting for his place.
"Güler never asked to leave, not even in March when he wasn’t playing."
In the last few weeks of the 2023–24 campaign, Guler made an impression by scoring six goals in just 440 minutes of action.
The Turkey international appeared in 10 league games for Los Blancos, scoring six goals.
Though the 19-year-old has primarily struggled for playing time up to this point, numerous teams from around the continent have contacted Guler and his camp on the prospect of a summer transfer.
But according to Romano, as things stand, no such move will occur.
The Turkish midfielder is focusing on represeting his country in Euro 2024 this summer in Germany.
The Real Madrid midfielder will face Georgia, Portugal and Czech Republic in the group stage while playing for Turkey in Euro 2024.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid captain Nacho faces an uncertain future at the club with Romano reporting that the defender could be heading to Saudi Arabia or Major League Soccer.
