Sir Jim Ratcliffe demands patience from Man United fans
Man United co-owner Ratcliffe wants the fans to give his project some time.
As he works to turn around Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe warns that supporters must be a bit patient.
The British billionaire completed his minority takeover of the club in February and since then, he has assumed control of football operations at the club.
Ratcliffe is determined to make changes at the club from the top to bottom as he aims to rejuvenate the club following a number of disappointing seasons.
The Man United fans have been crying for a change in the ownership, in the team's fortunes and their performances for a long time now.
With Ratcliffe in charge of the club now, changes have already started at Old Trafford with the appointment of CEO Omar Berrada and a new technical director in Jason Wilcox.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on his X account, Ratcliffe has asked for patience from the fans.
He said, as quoted by Romano:
“The fans are impatient, I have some sympathy with that. But it's a journey, whether they like it or not they have to be a bit patient”.
“It's not a light switch, you can't just turn it around like that”.
Man United are currently seventh in the Premier League and fighting for a place in the Europa League next season.
The Red Devils have experienced a disastrous season with the club failing to make it out of the Champions League group stage and unable to find consistency in the Premier League.
However, they reached the FA Cup final after beating Coventry City in the semifinal.
Manchester City are now waiting to face the Red Devils in the final on 25th May. It is a repeat of last season's final which the Premier League champions won 2-1.
Ratcliffe would be hoping that by winning the final next month, his new era at the club can kick start with a trophy.
It would mean more as it would come against Pep Guardiola's Man City.
Man United target is set to cost €60m as his release clause becomes active this year.
