World Cup round-up
France dazzle in comfortable win over Sweden
France are playing some absolutely fantastic football at the moment, with Kylian Mbappe and co. on fire in their 3-0 win over Sweden.
Mbappe scored two goals of immense quality to go joint-top with Lionel Messi on six goals at the World Cup so far, while Michael Olise was at his creative best to set up two goals.
Bradley Barcola, linked with Liverpool and others, also got on the scoresheet with an emphatic finish. Can anyone stop Les Bleus winning the World Cup this summer?

Mexico win and continue clean sheet run
Mexico’s superb start to the World Cup 2026 continues as they beat Ecuador and maintained their record of managing not to concede a single goal so far in the tournament.
Julian Quinones scored a beauty to open the scoring, and Raul Jimenez was clinical for his country again at this World Cup with a second goal shortly afterwards.
Mexico were good value for their win and came close to adding a third, while Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie was sent off late on for Ecuador for covering his mouth.

Erling Haaland hits late winner for Norway
Norway secured a dramatic victory in a close game against Ivory Coast yesterday, with Erling Haaland - who else - stepping up with the late winner.
Antonio Nusa had given Norway the lead with a lovely curling effort, but Manchester United winger Amad Diallo stole the show with a brilliant solo run to equalise late in the second half.
Haaland popped up even later though with a typical poacher’s finish to give Norway another win at this World Cup as these dark horses show they’re the real deal.
