And more on Liverpool, PSG, Real Madrid & Spurs
Arsenal
Great news for Arsenal that Gabriel Magalhaes has signed a new contract, committing his future to the Gunners until 2027.
I’m told two clubs approached Gabriel Magalhaes agents in July, and Juventus were one of them for sure; Arsenal decided to keep him as key player for present and future.
Napoli were pushing more than Man United for Gabriel in 2020, but Arsenal’s insistence made the difference. He impressed a lot at Lille and it’s clear now that this was another smart piece of business by Arsenal to win the race for his signature.
📰 In other news, Arsenal could be tempted to try signing Evan Ndicka from Eintracht Frankfurt, who may try selling the defender in January to avoid losing him for free next summer (Evening Standard)
💬 Arsenal fans - who would YOU sign in January? Which position still needs strengthening if this team is to stay in the title race? Tell me your thoughts in the comments!
Aston Villa
Mauricio Pochettino to Aston Villa doesn’t look like happening - the Argentine wants to wait for different opportunities. Ruben Amorim also looks unlikely as he’s tempted to stay at Sporting and keep going with current project.
Aston Villa are exploring the managers market, we should have more of an idea about who they go for next week. Personally, I think Amorim was a fantastic idea as he's a potential top manager for present and future, but Sporting have no intention to let him go.
Barcelona
Xavi on Franck Kessie not playing: “Here it’s Barca, so the competition is fierce. He's training really well, but he's being a great professional. I'm sure he will get his minutes throughout the season.”
