Thomas Tuchel says he has no update on Jules Kounde, but made it clear he feels his squad needs this signing after the 4-0 friendly defeat to Arsenal. “We had an urgent appeal for quality players and a huge amount of quality players. We got two quality players no doubt but we’re not competitive like this and you could see that today.”

My understanding is that Chelsea are waiting for the green light from Sevilla. They made a bid earlier in the week and Barcelona are unlikely to match it.
